For the past week or so, I have been setting up a new host for the blog.  One that will allow some growth.  One that will let us date other blogs and really be ourselves.  A host that is commitment-flexible. You know, just like that one person you dated but could not convince to be exclusive with you?  Except that was a bad thing.  And it made you sad, mad, drink excessively (not judging).  And this is a good thing.  So really not like that person at all.  Hmmm.   Moving on now. Unfortunately (or disfortunately, as the kids like to say these days – don’t get me started on that one!) the host I chose was not as ‘plug-and-play’ as they purported to be, and so I spent the better part of the week, along with many anxiety attacks and crying jags, trying to get the blog back up and running.  It has been touch and go.  I think that I may have scarred the tech support fellow when I started sobbing to him on the phone while wailing ‘ this was supposed to be EASY!’  I sure hope that he is getting paid the big bucks – dealing with sleep deprived, half (being generous to myself) insane writers (being very generous to myself), who hyperventilate on the phone while being walked through some ftp database gibberish.  Phew!  Am I glad that part of the fun is over (knock on wood).  But the final support dude I spoke with has the same first name as Mr. KB and somehow, he managed to fix almost all the problems and at least got the site back up in a useable format.  Yay, him!

But, the long and the short of it is – we are BACK!  And I’m really looking forward to taking the blog into the New Year with ya’ll.

So, the past week, while not blogging, these are some of the things we’ve had, seen, done, thought:

Snow. Lots and lots of it. And the picture quality is horrendous because you could not pay me enough to open the sliding glass doors, so I snapped it through the kind-a-clean glass 🙂

A Gene Simmons look-a-like contest (winner got nothing but the glory of winning).
Three of my four smalls, playing school. Somebody buy that poor baby a backpack already! She’s hung a tote bag on her arms and fashioned herself one. I admire her creativity (and her snappy sense of fashion – pink with pink and pink, can’t go wrong there!)
And then it warmed right up! Break out the shorts! Well, I would, but those bitches don’t fit under my pants anymore. Note to self: really must address the shrinking clothing issue that I’m having.
And then I find our cat half in the bag. And looking thoroughly annoyed at the paps snapping her picture. But I didn’t care. She was sleeping on my brand new Dollar-and-a-half-a-rama, made-in-China-but-I-want-it-anyway, STUFF. This cannot stand. Oh wait, as I type this, I see that she is sleeping on top of that same bag. Another note to self: Put the shopping away, lazy ass.

So, that’s a glimpse into the past week around our house.  What happened at yours?  Only 23 more sleeps until Christmas – are you ready?  I’m not.  I think I need to go and hide under the table now.
